Is it Visa-Verified /Mastercard secure-code during the payment process? That is, you are asked to input a 2nd factor authentication during payment? If so, based on my experience, they will not ask to check CC during check-in.

In the early days where there is no such verification process and to prevent myself from forgetting to bring credit card during trip, I always make a trip down to SQ office with my credit card and passport for them to perform verification first.
