I am a 4 x per year visitor to LHR and I read with interest the many reports re the new T2 experience. There are lots of well intentioned but never the less "general" comments particularly regarding walking distances which I find somewhat confusing since like many others I am trying to compare with the old T3.
For example (a) as I understand it on departure from LHR there are seperate fast track secuity lines avaiable (same as T3) after which one walks for "miles" up & down escalators and lifts and along moving walkways to the departure MLL which is located at or very near to the daparture gates. Some folk say escalators are slow (and/or broken) and to use the lifts.
(b) on arrival at LHR the long walkways, escalator / lifts need to be negotiated thro long "tunnels" before entering the immigration hall which appears roughly same layout as T3
(c) on exiting the daparture MLL it is apparently just a few yards to the departure gate - whereas in T3 you leave the MLL & start out on a long haul journey to gate 36/42 !
All of this becomes really inportant for those of us who for whatever reason don't walk distances too well. No mention of any seats along the way.
