By the way yyz-sfo is $360 ai on AA and nobody at AC has noticed that either.

Not asleep, just prudent. If as others have claimed, SKYTEAM has fewer seats to fill and are attacking SAA and the other carriers on this route, it seems to me STAR is being smart not to extend its participation as AF, KL and DL will have sold out much of their premium inventory and thus SAA, LH, BA, VirginAtlantic (VR?) and LX will be able to sell their inventory at the higher fare. SKYTEAM is looking at the short term, and thus will have fewer full-fare seats to sell when most of these get sold, a week or two prior to departure by business travellers. Knowing their historical booking patterns, this means these airlines will yield at least another $2K-$3K over the $2.6K discounted fare. Makes smart business to me...and apparently to OW who never jumped into the sale (other than with the joint AC/BA fare).

It is interesting to note that AF/KL has been facing very bad financials of late and with all their discounting of fares ex-NAmerica in economy as well as business, they are trying to "cook the books" to a degree, clocking income for future quarters up front to make performance look better.

As for the SFO fare ex-YYZ, only worked on certain limited dates and itineraries and the regularly bookable fare was still over $600. (And earlier this year the same routing could be had for $100 less if booked judiciously.)
