Take it from someone who has been in the role of husband. You want to get into the practice of managing expectations as much as you possibly can. Underpromise. Every time. All the time. You will be held to every single thing you ever promise. So promise as little as possible.
And depending on your wife, a "promise" could be established by anything you casually mention might happen at some point in the future.
