I have found that the Moneygram MOs printed out at WalMart are often so faint that ATMs won't read them and phone apps like USAA have trouble with them. The WU ones work much better at the ATM, I think because they print out much darker.
I tried MG from WM, mobile deposit with both WF and Citi and got rejected both times. WF couldn't even recognize the MO and was unable to read the amount. Citi sent me a rejection with the same reason 2 days later.
