It's really anyone's guess. If you are not flexible with dates, and your dates are peak season - immediately before Christmas and immediately before New Year's Day, as well as a couple of days after - then it's quite possible they won't come down. If you can stay outside those dates, then I suspect that waiting will yield some better results.
Unfortunately I'm locked in with my dates, and they coincide with the holidays. We'd be leaving a couple of days before Christmas and returning that first weekend after New Year's.
