I agree with this. Last December, I was able to get business class to Lisbon at a very good price, but I left on 12/26. I purchased later than usual, I think in early December.
I recall some sort of holiday fare sale to Europe in past years, but really never paid much attention to those. If you're flexible on the dates, $1400 doesn't really seem like a deal to me, so personally I would probably monitor prices for at least a couple months and look to purchase in the fall.
