Ha ha! OP is a female
We live in London. Have HSBC Premier MasterCard in the UK (HSBC only issues normal MasterCard for premier customers, and you have said correctly 1 reward point = £5 spent = 5 avios, a strange way that HSBC UK does things). But we also have HSBC Premier World MasterCard in the US and in Australia. The World MasterCard has slightly better benefits than the normal MasterCard - not sure why HSBC in the UK does not issue World MasterCard to premier customers like in Australia and in the US? We received the email from HSBC in the US about the 20% bonus for converting reward points to BAEC - but it did not say at what rate! Been searching in their website but could not find this info. I will have to phone them - just want to know before converting. We have BA Amex 2-4-1 vouchers but not enough avios to use vouchers, so have been looking for ways to get avios!
