I will not advise you what you should go for. However, another thing to consider is that beginning in March 2015, Reward miles will be earned not by flight mileage plus bonuses, but by a multiplier of how much is spent on the ticket.

Platinum will receive 9x $ spent. 1K will receive 11x $ spent.

Examples : $2,000 x 9 = 18,000 Reward miles
$2,000 x11 = 22,000 Reward miles
$7,500 spent to qualify for Platinum* x 9 = 67,500 Reward miles
$10,000 spent to qualify for 1K** x 11 = 110,000 Reward miles

(* + 75,000 flight miles or 90 segments to qualify for Platinum)
(** + 100,000 flight mikes or 120 segments to qualify for 1K)
