Try calling/emailing Amazon directly. They should pay the return shipping on the damaged item.

AMEX will pay for the TV, even if you damaged it. However, they may ask you to ship it to them - at your own expense. In my experience, AMEX generally doesn't bother to ask you to ship it back, but they might for a TV since it's more expensive.
