Offence is a choice. Individuals decide to take it and be offended based on their own values. Being offended is not the same as being hurt, insulted in an illegal way (racially etc) or slandered - it's subjective sensitivity and cannot be gauged equally for a society.
And as for the notion that we should censor ourselves culturally due to our high-spending shopaholic patrons from the Middle East...
