Last month at CPH airport, I bought my 24 hour Copenhagen card with my B of A emv card and indeed they too asked for the pin and I used the cash advance pin and yes the card was accepted.
For European cards, the cash advance PIN (used at ATM) and the Chip+PIN Pin is always the same. Maybe this could be the secret to using US card overseas?
Now back to zip codes for non-US residents!! ;-)
