Got the lufthansa card recently and have spent around 5k so far for the signup bonus. My fee posted yesterday and I called them to see if they will waive it. The rep was clueless so I should have hung up sooner.

My statement will close in 3 days along with the sign up bonus. So I'll call them and threaten to cancel. Have 3 other cards with barclays and they have generally waived AF
