I am in Pattaya now. But, I was up your way a few weeks ago (Loei). The farmers up North are not happy (obviously) and feel their lives will be worse off with the changes. But, it is not talked about in public.

True about the Royal family. But, prior to the coup, politics were talked about openly. Police corruption was discussed. Now, there is none of that. People are too afraid to speak up.

I think we all see what we see... colored by the people around us. I have no doubts about the vibe you are getting from the people around you... and it is indeed different than the vibe I am getting from people around me.

Time will tell. (And I hope you are right.)
