Definitely the Hassler because it's privately owned, full of character, and it isn't a big boring international chain hotel like the St Regis. At the heart of every St Regis . . . is a Sheraton. If you want a luxury beach resort then something like a St Regis might fit the bill . . . but in Rome? Not for me.
