Confused about "Flexible Premier Miles"
I had GS/1K status for many years, but after a seemingly increasingly repugnant, never ending series of customer service, elite and IRROPS debacles, I saw the writing on the wall, that my loyalty was NOT valued and I abandoned United for greener pastures mid 2013 ... Flash forward to today - I logged into my United account after many months and realized that I had nearly 80K of "Flexible Premier Qualifying Miles" ... what's the best thing to do with these? ... Despite essentially not flying United, I still have managed to accumulate enough miles for "Silver" status (that and $2.51 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbux) ... can I donate these? ... should I use them? ... do they expire? ... is there a "Keep alive" option for these?
I see there's an option to "Transfer Flexible Premier Qualifying Miles" but, in true United fashion, that seems to only allow me to achieve the status level I *already have*?? ... huh?
