OP: Don't do it, unless you like to buy same-day tickets (usually _a bit_ more expensive) or your second ticket is fully flexible (I doubt so..)
Personal opinion on 2 tickets is that the more issues it will cause me to miss it, the more time I'll plan for it. And even if it will be rather easy (with, say, train/bus being an alternative for same-day travel within reasonable time on a shorthaul) in case something goes wrong, I'll give it 3 hours connection time. And I'll check if there is more frequent delays or not (Flightstats etc.) on this route.
