Looking at this very quickly I was able to get 1p per Avios to LAX and 1.44p per Avios to MEX on the first two searches I tried. I think that's pretty decent for someone looking to fly WT with a few Avios lying around they might not use otherwise. I know long-haul economy isn't discussed all that much on here but it is the norm for most people.....
