Thankfully I'll be returning tomorrow and will not be utilizing this location ever again.
The 50k mile Kia Optima is truly the best car they have available. Unfortunately the bald tires were starting to show thread wires, so I had to swap it out. I was flat out denied both the Nissan Maxima and the Ford Escape that were sitting on the lot. Originally switched into a 2012 [old body style] Fusion and refused it. Finally ended up with a red 2014 VW Jetta S (bare bones, anemic engine, no cruise control, AUX input only, half a tank of gas) that was marked on the contract as a black VW Jetta SE.
Systems were also down, so they couldn't properly swap my contract out or make notes of anything.
When I mentioned my displeasure with the cars, the agent could not have cared less, and stated I could talk to a manager who might be in on Tuesday, or I could just continue to let Corporate investigate it.
Per the sticker on the back of at least one of their vehicles, it appears that a number of their cars are bought from used car auctions in the Philadelphia area. Oddly enough, there seems to be a combination of Florida, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina plates on the vehicles. However, I can find absolutely no information regarding East Coast Car Rental LLC in either Greenville, SC (per their temp tags) or in Pennsylvania (per the registration for the Jetta).
This is a shady operation at best, and Sixt Corporate would do well to send someone physically to the location to investigate.
