1) The metallic electronics can obscure other metallic objects that are above or below them (e.g. a gun or another device).
2) Background or foreground organic material will overlap on the image of the electronic if it's kept in a bag. There should be very little organic material inside an electronic device (could be explosive material) but if it's kept in the bag it will look like it's packed with organic material.
I know it's a pain removing electronics but it really is helpful. I also know most checkpoints are too lazy at the moment to enforce this rule but I believe it will be changing over time as CATSA does more auditing.</font>
Hey Catsa Screener. I agree with you on almost all posts (including some Spiff stuff) and am always willing to co-operate with security but when u got someone like Empress posting his experience I don't think it needs to be clarified. I've only been registered a few months but use to lurk a bit and have seen a lot of the posts that he answers. I'd be willing to bet that he knows more about the travel business than most people on this board combined.
