I wouldn't pay one cent more to have an additional connection at FRA.
The LH A380 isn't pleasant in coach, but would it be worth $60 to the OP for a first time ride on this aircraft?
I'm assuming no status on either alliance, so there would be no lounge access on either itinerary, but if OP has PP or something similar, then lounge locations should be checked. IIRC FRA has a PP lounge in each terminal but they're both land side. AFAIK the old Oasis at JFK would work for T4.
