Thank you very much for your replies, they're much appreciated captdini737, johnnie69 and FlyingRhino.

I spoke to BA today and they quoted £710 for the 4 of us to upgrade to Club on the Comair sectors, and it will be interesting to see if that goes any lower when checking-in at T5 or enquiring at JNB. £710 does seem a fairly reasonable figure to be quite honest, on par with some of the CE check-in counter upgrades at LGW (~£89pp).

Thank you very much for the reassurances captdini737 !

Cheers for having my back johnnie69 I wasn't really expecting a tirade of negative replies to begin with from the first OPs... from my observations over my time as a non-OP, some people on here just seem to be rather pedantic for the sake of it. Not that I should be having to justify any of this, but I'm heading to Croatia this weekend until Friday just before the trip commences. Then the day after I get back I start an internship, so it made sense to get the ball rolling now.

And thanks for the advice FlyingRhino, we would've loved to have fitted in a trip down to Cape Town in our itinerary as well, but we had to make a decision as to whether we were to go over to Victoria Falls or spend a couple of days in Cape Town... and we agreed on the former in the end. My dad went to Cape Town for the Lions back in 2009, so that sort of swayed the balance having already visited. It's high up on my list though!
