Part of it depends on what you are looking for. There are rooms at the MO with great views, but the hotel is part of a mall (may be a plus, may be a negative) and you need to be on a higher floor so that the Trump does not block your view. I like the upper east side and the Carlyle in general. But am not sure it is that much better than the Pierre if you have a special offer. I do like the Pierre, and your mom can go on nice walks up Madison avenue.
