I check bags on about half my trips. I rarely find I have to wait long for my bag. 10 mins would count as long by the way.

I just arrived at T5 and decided to time the wait for my bag. It was all of 22 seconds today. No queue at checkin either. Well worth not having to drag it around either end but as always OMMV.
