The "frequent fliers" can be the worst offenders here, some board early and put everything up in the locker. When challenged by the Crew I often hear the DYKWIA story, about Gold Card etc.
The bottom line is, BA allow one item of handbaggage plus a smaller item, to be placed underneath the seat in front of you. If you do not want to do that, well then just bring one back.
I however feel for people who board towards the end with only one small bag and then have to put that bag underneath the seat in front of them, because other selfish and self important people fill the overhead space with all their items.
I never quite understand this "it is all about me" attitude some people display.
Thats my rant over :-)
To be fair to Goldies leisure pax are just as guilty of this especially those who are connecting off a long haul. They can have coats, duty free and all sorts of other things they have collected along the way. I don't think anyone's to blame even cabin crew can only do so much. It's just something that given BA's generous cabin baggage allowance we have to accept.
If I travelled every week for work I wouldn't check in bags unless I had to. However people do make a lot of fuss over waiting for luggage at reclaim. Considering some have just travelled thousands of miles in such a short space of time waiting an extra 30 minutes is nothing.
