So I'm going to Sydney in a few days. Public transport would make me go to practice late. I will be staying and training in Burwood.
I was wondering if there are any great bike rentals or car share programs?
Usage: I don't anticipate using the car or bike that much. Maybe just Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4am to 8am (I swim from 5-7 am). Unless my coach says otherwise, I may need to just make AM practice M-F.
Since I am American- I am hesitant about driving, if my family would even LET me drive.
I would buy a folding bike, but I'm leaving in 3 days and didn't think about this idea until today. My mother and brother would not be happy about me bringing my brother's road bike to Australia either... (they are in Sydney, I am not at the moment)
I don't know the parking situation with my swim team/the aquatic centre and while I can easily get to training, I forgot how to get back home... (one way streets)
You're staying and training in Burwood. If you're training at the Enfield Aquatic Centre it's pretty far from the train stations (especially for Americans), although it's only about a mile from Burwood station straight down Burwood Road. What you might want to look for is either a lift from someone else on the swim team or just get a taxi from home to the Aquatic Centre (you can call ahead for a taxi and they will pick you up from the address), it's not going to be that much money and certainly comparable to a carshare. There isn't a bikeshare in Sydney.
