I'm a lawyer who travels somewhat often and nearly always have to take suits. Couple of suggestions from my experience traveling with dress clothes:
1. Invest in a set of good black cap toe dress shoes. Black is the most versatile color and you can wear them with a suit, but they also work with casual clothes when you are out of the interview mode. I've had good luck with Allen Edmonds.
2. Never plan to wear the second day of the trip the same suit as the previous day even if you are dealing with different people. Too much risk of spillage or getting stuck on a plane with nonworking air conditioning and having the suit stink to high heaven.
3. Hang the suits and shirts as soon as you get to the hotel. Put the suit and shirt you are wearing in the bathroom and shower with the bathroom fan off. You will be astonished at how well the wrinkles in suits fall out and sometimes with a no-iron shirt you don't have to iron it again if you folded it in your bag properly. I always leave extra time in the morning to iron the shirt if that doesn't work.
I'm also very happy to have ditched wheels for short trips on the bags - I need to put together an update on my MEI Executive Overnighter review, but for 2-3 day trips it has worked very well.
Good luck on the interview trail.
