I came here also hoping for a new "best Cat 5" thread - obviously, anyone can read the website, but what I want to know is where is a good use of the cert. Somewhere others have been and rate highly, rather than blindly guessing.
The Courtyards in
BOTH Montreal and Toronto are still a Category 5 -- you had me worried for a second when reading your post.
So you still have 2 options in downtown major Canadian cities open to you. However, I expect the CY Montreal to jump to a Category 6 some time next year when they do their annual re-evaluation -- I surmise it still is only a 5 because it just opened last Fall '14.
The CY Toronto, although well located, I believe for some tourist stuff, has not been renovated in some time and comparing the pictures of the two subject properties shows a very stark contrast. Once the latter undergoes a renovation, then it will likely be re-categorized.
I can't help but notice that almost every major new opening of a major downtown hotel is now a Category 6 or greater -- the CY Montreal being the exception.
