This ^ - check the fine prints of your booking / reservation or partner site that you originally used for any restrictions. It's rare these days but I recall a long, long time ago with prepaid hotel vouchers issued - that early departure/checkout are subject to a penalty (couldn't figure that one out.) Usually if you don't show up or check-in for the 1st. night of a multi-night lodging stay, your room is cancelled and no refunds/credits given - unless hotel is notified and agreed to changes (delayed/cancelled flights, emergencies or medical reasons, etc.)

These were before the resort fees and "energy" surcharges become mandatory add-ons, to be collected direct from the travelers upon check-in.
