If you want maximum compatibility, burn a conventional Music CD. You'll only get a single album's worth of music on each, but you won't ever have to worry about being able to play it.

Otherwise, burn a closed-session data CD with the music files in MP3 format. Virtually any CD player with an 'MP3' logo on it will play it. You'll be able to get approximately 11 hours of music on one of those at an average bit rate of 192Kb/s.
