They did not say what the amount was but is this common practice on flights that have empty seats? Or is this just FA's making extra money on the side because how much could they have offered for someone to upgrade, I doubt anyone would have more than US$200-US$300 cash on them so it couldn't be more than that, or could it? If the amount was low wouldn't it just make sense for the seats to remain empty?
I find that hard to believe on a flight between Dubai and China.
