I flew on the 24th from ISB-> AUH-> ORD.

I arrived at AUH at 07:00 and flight to ORD wasn't till 09:30. After hearing horror stories about pax missing flights, I headed straight to the preclearance area. Had to go through two security checks (30 mins total) to reach CBP. There were few (20 or so) passengers and I cleared immigration/customs in 10 minutes! So very pleasant experience there.

Can't say the same when I reached ORD. Apparently due to "heat issues", luggage for ALL customers with ORD as final destination was not loaded on the flight and instead was sent to Washington?!?! I had to wait 1 hr in line to give them my number and address to have my luggage fedexed to me. There was a huge line behind me and I wouldnt be surprised if they stood there for another couple of hours.

I'm hoping Etihad gives the passengers some coupons etc for this huge inconvenience. Can't imagine what "heat issues" there might be at 9 in the morning in AUH.
