When I'm in line, I always stand to one side to allow GS to proceed.
UA created the problem when they abandoned the old Red Carpet lane for GS/1K/F/C and the other lane for everyone else.

Anyone who is in the Group 1 line and doesn't understand GS boarding first is obviously not an experienced Group 1 flier.
I enjoy dressing casually as a 1K on my flights when I can. I change into business attire when I need to. One would not know anything about me or the millions of miles logged over many years just by looking at my clothing.
Also, just because someone wears business attire for the flight and sits in First tells nothing either. Someone's behavior in line can indicate lack of experience flying UA.
I hardly ever wear a suit when I fly. Line behavior is more indicative than dress.
I believe that this incident has been fleshed out enough that we can all agree to blame it on UA.
Was there ever any doubt?
