Did T2 intl-domestic for the first time last week, and very impressed.
As arriving pax its pretty much the same experience as the new DEL T3. Looong walk to get to immigration, but OK for me if the planned ahead. Walked past the SQ A380 parked at gate 70 and already thought of the fun times in long lines ahead.
Walking past the intl transfer deask I noted the much improved situation of the holding pen, it seems AI & 9W have counters there and some handling agent taking care of the rest. Plenty of CISF checkpoints too.
Immigration was no issue at all, some 20 desks were manned. The PIO line was just after the F/C lines, and some German C pax were ahead of me. No one cared to read the signs on where to stand and just stood in the shortest line. Certainly ushers are required.
After picking up the luggage you turn left before the customs agent collecting the slips. There AI and 9W have counters which accept luggage and print BP for your connecting domestic flight. Only the LCC (Spice, Indigo etc) pax have to carry their luggage to the interterminal bus. The cutoff for acceptance of domestic luggage at T2 is T-60min. After giving away the luggage you go thru security and down stairs into the old volvo bus. They are supposed to run by a schedule, but it seems they waited till the bus was full and then the CISF guy hopped on and off we went.
The bus stops at the AI/Spicejet/Indigo end first, then heads over to the 9W domestic arrivals. After walking past the luggage belts you just turn right and go thru security. Make sure you have the hand luggage tags for the CISF people to merrily stamp on.
It took me 60min from intl gate to domestic gate ^ I had nearly 3h to connect, so all was good.
