Has anyone had their AMEX GC lost by UPS?

I have the next day shipping on all of my AMEX GC orders. Unfortunately, this last order wasn't delivered to me and has been hanging as "In Transit" for the past 3 days even though it reached my city's processing center 3 days ago. I call UPS and they've raised an investigation ticket say it may take up to 8 business days try and track it down or confirm that they've lost it. They've already contacted AMEX and informed them that the package did not reach me. Has anyone dealt with this before? If so how did it play out?
