Dressing appropriately helps in virtually every situation (As long as you can do this without looking like a schoolboy.) However, I believe the dragons will see your birthday on the computer, and they are quite strict at JFK I understand.

At LHR, however, a fashionable shirt and blazer combination will help but is not essential. If you are denied entry in one lounge, there is another Galleries. And other entrance desks to the same Galleries.

I am not sure that technically you should be denied entry in the UK actually. A 16 year old can legally buy a beer or glass of wine with a meal in a restaurants for instance, so is a lounge different?

Just look as if you're supposed to be there.

Also, are you connecting to another flight at LHR? You will need to exit, not follow flight connections, to reach the arrivals lounge.
