Stopped by my favorite part of IAD for the first time in breakfast hours. If anybody's curious about the offerings, I can report that while it's not the culinary oasis you see in the evening, it certainly works. There's some kind of cold cuts and cheese (didn't sample), melon slices and apricots, a few choices of cereal, two kinds of yogurt with granola, four different sorts of pastry (croissant was only so-so) and a coffee machine that did a creditable cafe au lait.

The bar, however, was unstaffed and seemed to be shut down, so if you're hankering for a free bloody mary you'd either have to be That Guy asking one of the staff to open the bar at 8:30 a.m. or you'd have to (gasp) head over to a UC.
