And unless you don't need insurance, pre-paid bookings work out cheaper through Avis UK than Avis.com because for UK customers the plan includes insurance extras like CDW which are charged as extras if booked in the US.
And in Germany the UK-pre-paid price includes such things as Winter Tyres (but it still doesn't stop the Avis desk from occasionally adding them on).
The last time this happened they had to re-issue the invoice 5 times to remove all the extra charges they added on, each time saying "oh, but everyone must pay this charge", then me showing them the voucher which said the charges were already included.
But now I know what to expect and adding on car hire
does have such a nice effect on the ticket price. BUT IT COULD BE SO MUCH BETTER!!!
