But the state can kiss its reunification dreams goodbye - why would Taiwan ever want to reunify voluntarily with you if reunification means takeover?
Hong Kong and Macau were meant to showcase the case for reunification to Taiwan. I guess the current leadership aren't keen on appearances now.
