Air Namibia not to be grounded (yet)

Air Namibia has been given a two week extension to submit the correct documents for the renewal of its Air Operator’s Certificate in Namibia. The airline initially refused to participate in a re-certification processes thinking it only applied to new airlines.
A spokesperson for the DCA told the newspaper it didn’t have intentions to ground Air Namibia but that the international standards had to be complied with.
The MD, Theo Namases, as well as the GM for Airport Services, Nokokure Katjiuongua, were suspended on Monday evening, pending an investigation.
