Actually most of the FTers are well aware as long as it is ATC or weather delays/cancellation, we expect no hotel accomodations or any compensations.
...All Hong Kong newspapers did mention those 70 pax that refuse to get off the planes were all mainlanders, the rest of the others had already left the plane and flew the other flights.

Sorry but you are plain WRONG, but I do understand as many foreigners are confused too. It is actually Hong Kong S.A.R., not Hong Kong, China. Hong Kong used its own bauhinia flag, NOT the China flag.
You can say the same as Taiwanese are Chinese, but Taiwan has its own flag like Hong Kong does, not using the China flag. Not to mention Taiwan has its own government too, not by the rule of China's government.
This is 2014, not 2047, until then we remain Hong Kong S.A.R. not Hong Kong China.
