In any event, J7 doesn't tell you that there are empty seats in CW. It could be just as consistent with CW being full, but space being available in the F cabin. In that situation, you could understand why BA might not be keen to op-up someone from CW to F for the incremental revenue generated by selling one WT+ --> CW AUP.
All of this makes sense, except I just got off the flight where I saw a number of empty seats in J. EF was showing F2 when I wrote the earlier message, suggesting that the empty seats were actually in J. So something is inconsistent here...
