Booking class doesn't necessarily ensure an op-up either. I've flown on full fare W WTP tickets before and have had Silvers colleagues upgraded before me.
By "booked in the highest class" I meant that there was no class on the plane above the one I had booked (F or CW). As a stereotypical leisure traveller, if I ever go buy a full fare ticket I hope somebody comes up and slaps me
