I'm quite sure a disintegrating burst tire can puncture the a/c hull. Whether or not it punctures the pressurised hull is something else. If it did, that would explain the low-altitude flight if it even took place.

Not as scary or potentially dangerous as a VS A340 that had a landing gear strut beceme inop at LHR because a pin fell off ay LAX.
