I just spoke to them again. I am flying out this Sunday, back Thursday 3 July. The agent said that despite my stopover being 8h10m they couldn't offer me a transit hotel because there is availability on a shorter connection (7h50m). I pointed out that I had checked the availability on the shorter connection and that it only had availability in economy, and I was booked in business. She then said that I could get a transit hotel in that case for $150US.

At this point I asked about whether the lounges were completed in DOH, she said they were all open, but with limited capacity.

So I summarised for her: I paid about $7000US for a ticket, I have a 8h10 lay over, with no availability for a shorter layover in the same class, and the lounges have limited capacity, isn't very good service is it? I then asked to speak to her supervisor. She put me on hold for about 10 minutes then came back to tell me that her supervisor said they could not offer me a hotel as it was not policy, and that as it was policy, the supervisor was not willing to talk to me!

Unbelievable, what crappy service, a supervisor unwilling to talk to an unhappy customer! This will be my first flight on QR, and it looks like my last.

I'm really looking forward to 8 hours in an incomplete lounge during Ramadan.
