True story about unaccompanied minors and a diversion...last year, my sister was on a flight from White Plains to Atlanta. There were two cute little girls on the plane, about 4 and 6, unaccompanied. The pilot came on and announced that due to a cracked windshield, they would have to be diverted to Baltimore! All of the motherly types passengers rushed to entertain the children for the hours it took to round up another airplane. In the end, these unaccompanied children were probably the ONLY reason they didn't have to stay an extra night! She said the girls were fine until the very end, when they were handed off to a very relieved parent in Atlanta.
