I was thinking the problem was that it was cold, and it occurred to me that if the OP goes to one of the airside restaurants they will almost certainly be happy to give her water.
The comment was directed toward the idiotic War on Water; it certainly appears to me that Blogndog sympathizes with the OP.
True. We shouldn't attempt to solve any problem until we can solve every problem.

Do you have any proof or is this more of just a musing?
This sounds like the anti-vaccine non-sense people spew.
Children are not dying or getting sick from public water fountains across the US or Europe.
You do realise that some bottled water companies just use tap water...even Dasani (Coke) did.
What a load of garbage.

Cold certainly could be an issue, though.

Before this goes any further guys, I wonder if this might be a case of cross-cultural and linguistic misunderstanding. I am not sure, so I will clarify what I
think is the misunderstanding, and you guys can tell me if I'm right (in which case everyone will laugh and find that they were in agreement all along), or tell me I'm wrong, in which case I'll back off and you can continue arguing.
The phrase "water fountain" has slightly different meanings in different parts of the world.
To some people,
"water fountain" refers only to the decorative public fountains which can be found in squares, plazas, and piazzas all over the world. These fountains are often highly unsanitary and definitely not safe to drink from. In many cultures, these public fountains are used for foot washing (which in the US is considered disgusting and rude, as we consider the fountain to be a decorative item and not a practical one).
I think Tanja thought that you guys were advocating filling baby bottles from that sort of decorative, unsanitary water fountain.
Tanja, in the US, the term "water fountain" is used to refer to
drinking fountains, often called water bubblers in other parts of the world. In the US, these fountains are supplied by the same potable water network that brings drinking water into homes and businesses. They are clean and completely safe to drink from, though many Americans dislike the taste of the water from such fountains and prefer to drink bottled water. Many such fountains have their own filters built in to further clean the water, and many even have chillers built in so the water they dispense is cold and refreshing.
Okay, did I guess right on this, or am I just way off base?
