As I pointed out above, the redemption options with BA (vs. accruing points for BA flights on AA) are much worse in one respect, which is that you have no option on BA for unrestricted redemptions. Given the scarce availability of award tickets from BOS on both BA and AA (they are very difficult to find most of the year on short notice), this is not an insignificant difference.
