It's more like 1.4 cents after the 2014 devaluation. Also, your More Rewards ticket earns miles on that carrier. It's not as bad a deal as it used to be, especially for travel where you would otherwise have to pay cash because you haven't gotten 500k miles of signup bonuses from every credit card under the sun or because none of those airlines offers any saver seats.
