I connect through HND as often as NRT. More amenities since new concourse area opened in HND. Not a huge amount but an improvement. More eateries and more reasonable retail (e.g. Uniqlo express not just over priced duty free boutiques)

If your final destination is accessible via HND, why not. Just ensure MINIMUM 2 hr connect window to cover inbound delays if weather/ATC etc.
